The TriCarb Consortium for Carbon Sequestration Invites You to an Open House
When: 11 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, September 7, 2011.
Where: Exit 14 tandem truck lot, Clarkstown, Rockland County.
Why: To introduce community leaders to a new, innovative geologic research project.
The TriCarb Consortium for Carbon Sequestration (TriCarb) invites you to an Open House to learn more about an exciting geologic research project taking place in Rockland County, New York.
The TriCarb project is a joint venture of Houston-based Sandia Technologies, LLC, and Poughkeepsie-based Conrad Geoscience Corp. It is funded by the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory and the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority under state Department of Environmental Conservation oversight.
It is supported by the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, the New York State Museum, New Jersey Geological Survey, Rutgers University and the greater scientific community.
The team is conducting geologic research to understand the physical properties of a deep geologic formation in southeastern New York to determine if it is suitable for eventual sequestration – or permanent storage – of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
Please join representatives from the state and federal government, and members of our distinguished technical partners, and learn more about the project. In the meantime, please feel free to visit http://www.tricarb.org for additional details, including directions.
